
Huprikar Named Big Ten Runner Of The Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's cross country runner Amol Huprikar earned the final Big Ten Runner of the Week award of 2006, as announced by the conference office on Oct. 24. Huprikar earns the honor after turning in a sixth-place finish in a field of 60 at the EMU Classic last week.
The Novi, Mich., native was the first to cross the finish line for the Spartans at the unscored meet. Running the 10,000-meter run in 32:29.00, the finish marked Huprikar's best performance of his career.
Huprikar joins Spartan teammate Stephan Shay, as Michigan State honorees this season, with Shay earning the recognition on Sept. 22.
