Cross Country Runs At EMU Classic

DEXTER, Mich. - Members of the Michigan State men's and women's cross country teams ran at the Eastern Michigan Classic, at the Hudson Hills Metropark on Oct. 20. A total of 60 runners raced in the men's 10K, while 38 women competed on a 5K course. Individuals ran both for MSU and unattached in the unscored meet.
For the MSU men, Amol Huprikar placed sixth at 32:29, followed by Max Goldak in seventh place, with a time of 32:40. Rounding out the top three for the MSU men was Ian Girard, placing 10th (33:01).
Diane Hamilton turned in the top Spartan performance for the women, placing 10th at 18:49. Laurel Bennett and Ashley Casavant were the next two across the line, placing 11th (19:16) and 12th (19:18).
Michigan State is back in action on Oct. 29, traveling to Indiana for the Big Ten Championship.
