Woman's Track and Field Hosts Open Tryout

EAST LANSING, Mich. - -
Tryouts for the Michigan State Women's Track and Field Team will be conducted on Sunday, September 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Ralph Young Track and Field Complex. Any enrolled student, freshman through senior class, is welcome to try out, starting at 5:00 pm on Sunday. Former high school athletes of any sport are strongly encouraged to attend the tryouts. The Ralph Young Track is located just west of Spartan Football Stadium at the intersection of
Tryout activities will include a flying 30 meter sprint, standing long jump, and overhead backwards shot put toss. Tryout participants will be required to sign a liability release form before participating in physical activities.

Managers are also wanted for the 2005-06 season to help assist the track and field team. Interested candidates must be available after 3:00 pm on weekdays and weekends, and should possess some video and/or computer skills.
