
Harmon Misses Cut For Match Play At Western Amateur

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. - Junior Matt Harmon (Grand Rapids, Mich.) missed the cut for match play at the 103rd Western Amateur Championships on Friday, July 29. Harmon finished the tournament with a 293 (70-71-79-73) and in a tie for 47th place. The top 16 individuals advanced to match play.
The Western Amateur, which is being play at the Point O'Woods Golf and Country Club in Benton Harbor, Mich., features some of the nation's top amateur golfers battling in amateur play. Golfers shot 18 holes Wednesday (July 27) and Thursday, July 28 before the field was cut to the lowest 50 scores and tie. Players, who made the cut, played 36 holes on Friday with the low 16 scores qualifying for match play on Saturday (July 13). The final championship match of the Western Amateur is slated for Sunday (July 31).
