
Women's Track And Field Wraps Up Competition NCAA Regionals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Michigan State women's track and field team completed the second and final day of competition Saturday at the NCAA Mideast Regional at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex on the campus of Indiana University.
MSU had two competitors in field events, including Taren James who participated in the triple jump, finishing 10th with a leap of 40-6 3/4. Melinda Buckmaster placed 20th in the javelin with a throw of 128-9.
Michelle Rafferty finished 16th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:19.87. Michelle Carson was scheduled to compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, but did not start the race.
The NCAA Championships will be held June 8-11 in Sacramento, Calif.
