
Chris Hill Earns Academic All-District Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan Stae senior guard Chris Hill (Indianapolis, Ind.) was named to the 2005 Academic All-District IV men's basketball team for the third straight year on Thursday. The district team is made up of student-athletes from Division I schools in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee. Hill earned a spot on the team by posting a 3.75 grade-point average as a finance major.
A 2004 First-team Academic All-American, Hill's name will appear on the national ballot for the 2005 Academic All-America men's basketball team. He is joined on the all-district team by Austin Peay's Levi Carmichael and Zac Schlader and Belmont's Nick Otis and Jese Snyder. To be nominated, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher. Team members are selected by a vote of the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) within the district.
This season, Hill is averaging 10.0 points and a team-best 4.4 assists. He ranks fourth in the Big Ten in assists and leads the conference with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.03-to-1. He ranks second at MSU in career 3-point field goals made (296) and attempted (693).
