Michigan State vs. Georgia Tech Nov. 30, 2005 Post-Game Quotes
Georgia Tech Head Coach On his team's performance...
"When we play for each other, instead of playing young like we've done sometimes this year, we can be very good. I said all spring, summer and fall that this is a good basketball team. This team is capable of being a tournament-caliber team, but tonight we played for each other in the first half when Zam did a great job of setting people up. In the second half when they started to take away his passing lanes and take away some of his outlets, he started driving and scoring for himself. When we play for each other we can be good."
Michigan State Head Coach Tom Izzo
Opening statement...
"Well I don't think we are where we need to be and yet we have to give credit to Georgia Tech because they played hard and I don't think we could have let number four get any more shots. There is also the concern that we just don't want to guard anyone, and that is going to change. It's not only going to change our best players, but it's going to change us. I thought all in all, they did a good job and we played tough. We were up 10 or 15 times and we just didn't execute the way we should have."
On Paul Davis...
"Paul really came out in the second half and played hard. He really didn't have that good of a first have, but when he came out in the second half he was really making plays and being smart. He didn't take those 3's, but he took the long 2's and made them. He did take a couple of 3's, but he's an all around good shooter right now and he's doing some good things for us."
On Drew Neitzel...
"I thought that Drew had one of his best games as a Spartan. He executed the plays and was always looking for the shot. He stepped up defensively for us tonight and I thought that he was the best defensive player for us on the court."
