
Oakland Downs MSU For Second Consecutive Year

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's soccer team fell to Oakland, 1-0, at Old College Field on Wednesday in non-conference action. With the loss the Spartans drop to 3-3-4 on the year, and the Grizzlies improve to 4-5.
Oakland scored the only goal of the game in the 39th minute. The goal proved to be all Oakland needed to down MSU. The Spartans outshot the Grizzlies, 23-11, and made Oakland's goalkeeper, Jeff Wiese, make 10 saves. Michigan State netminder Jason Tillman (Jr., Brighton) made four saves in the game
Next up for the Spartans, they resume Big Ten play and continue their six-game homestand against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 2:30 p.m.
