Sara Brown Tops Leaderboard After Two Rounds

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Sophomore Sara Brown (Tucson, Ariz.) is at 2-under-par 142 (71-71) and leading the Lady Paladin Invitational individually. Brown has led the Spartan squad to a second place position entering the final round. MSU has a two round total of 600 (300-300), and is 10 shots behind Furman.
Junior Mandi McConnell (Grand Blanc, Mich.) and Senior Dayna Burleigh (Horsham, Pa.) are also in the top-twenty going into Sunday. McConnell is tied for 13th at 150 (75-75) while Burleigh finds herself in a tie for 20th at 152 (76-76).
Junior Heather Rose (Chillicothe, Ohio) shot 156 (78-78) and is in a tie for 39th. Junior Rachel Meikle (Fort Wayne, Ind.) totaled 160 (79-81) and is tied for 64th.
Sophomore Jordyn Wells (Bethel Park, Penn.) is competing as an individual and fired a 154 (76-78). She is tied for 26th place.
Furman has opened up a 10-stroke lead over the Spartans and a 13-shot advantage over third place Mississippi State. The Paladins are at 590 (292-298).
Final round play begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.
