* Michigan State improved to 17-3 overall, which is the team's best record after 20 games in school history.
* Michigan State improved to 18-30 all-time against Purdue and snapped a three-game losing streak against the Boilermakers. MSU is now 15-10 against Purdue in games played in East Lansing.
* Michigan State improved to 9-0 at home this season. MSU's nine-game home winning streak matches the fifth-longest home streak in school history.
* Michigan State is now 6-1 against nationally-ranked teams this season. The six victories against ranked squads is the most in a single season in MSU history.
* Michigan State improved to 3-0 in games played after a loss, with all three victories coming against ranked opponents (No. 3/3 Notre Dame, No. 18/17 Iowa, No. NR/24 Purdue).
* Senior guard Kristin Haynie became the 15th player in MSU history, and third this season joining Kelli Roehrig and Lindsay Bowen, to reach 1,000 career points. Haynie scored seven points, giving her exactly 1,000.
* Haynie also matched a season high with nine assists and had eight rebounds and two steals. She extended her school assists record to 479, and her school steals record to 291. She has 486 career rebounds.
* Kelli Roehrig had a game-high 20 points on 10-of-13 shooting, and at one point made nine straight shots. It was her fourth game this season with 20 or more points.
* Lindsay Bowen scored 15 points and matched a season high with six assists. She also had six assists vs. Eastern Illinois Dec. 9.
* Liz Shimek had her seventh double-double of the season and 18th of her career with 11 points and 10 rebounds. She moved into seventh place in MSU history with 700 career rebounds. She also tied a career high with four blocked shots.
* Michigan State shot a season-best 56.1 percent from the field sinking a season-high 32 field goals, and had a season-high 25 assists.
* Michigan State outrebounded Purdue, 37-27. The Spartans have been outrebounded just twice all season.
* Michigan State shot a season-low four free throws, sinking just two. MSU did not get to the free throw line at all until just 1:58 remained in the game.
