* Michigan State is now 12-1 for just the second time in school history. The only other time MSU started 12-1 was during the 1973-74 season.
* Michigan State improved to 5-0 on the road. It is the first time in school history that MSU won its first five road games.
* Michigan State currently has an eight-game winning streak, which matches the second-longest winning streak in school history. The eight-game streak is the longest since MSU set the school record with an 11-game winning streak in 1977.
* Michigan State improved to 10-14 all-time in Big Ten openers and has won two straight. MSU had lost its last seven Big Ten openers that were played on the road.
* Michigan State now leads the all-time series vs. Michigan 46-14 and has won five straight in the series. MSU is 19-8 vs. UM in Ann Arbor with three straight wins.
* Lindsay Bowen led MSU with 16 points, and became the 14th Spartan all-time and second this season to reach 1,000 career points when she buried a 3-pointer in the first half to give MSU a 31-28 lead. Bowen is the third-fastest Spartan to reach 1,000 points, having played just 73 career games.
* Liz Shimek had her 15th career double-double and fourth this season with 13 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
* Kelli Roehrig scored 14 points for MSU and has now reached double figures in 10 consecutive games. She also moved into the top ten in MSU history in scoring with 1,082 career points.
* Victoria Lucas-Perry had 12 points and six rebounds off the bench for MSU. It was her third double-figure scoring game of the season.
* Kristin Haynie had eight points, seven rebounds and seven assists for MSU. She now has 442 career assists, which is one shy of second place in school history and just 18 short of the MSU record.
* Michigan State outrebounded Michigan 37-26. The Spartans have been outrebounded just once all season.
