
Erin Carlson Named Big Ten Defensive Player Of The Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State goalkeeper Erin Carlson (Sr./Portage) was selected as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week in women's soccer, the conference announced Monday, Sept. 6.
Carlson came up big this past weekend with 13 saves in goal for the Spartans. In MSU's 3-0 win at Bowling Green last Friday (Sept. 3), the senior goalkeeper made five saves en route to recording her second consecutive shutout victory of the season, and tallied eight saves in Sunday's 5-1 win over Kentucky at Old College Field in East Lansing, Mich.
Starting every game in goal this season, Carlson has recorded a 0.50 goals against average with 17 saves for the 4-0 Spartans.
Michigan State will host Detroit in non-conference action at Old College Field on Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 4 p.m.
