OWOSSO, Mich. - Former Michigan State golfer Sarah Martin (2000-04) captured the 2004 GAM Championship on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at the Owosso Country Club in Owosso, Mich. Martin, who shot an opening-round 72 on Monday (Aug. 16), posted a 75 today en route to a two-round total of 147. Sophomore Mandi McConnell (Grand Blanc, Mich.) finished second after posting a 152 (76-76). Meanwhile, former Spartan Joan Garety (1975-78) tied for fourth with a 155 (78-77).

MSU head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll and junior Jennifer Johnson (Okemos, Mich.) finished in a three-way tie for 10th with a 158. Slobodnik-Stoll posted rounds of 77 and 81, while Johnson posted back-to-back rounds of 79. Junior Christy Jonkhoff (Traverse City, Mich.) finished tied for 19th with a 163 (80-83), while red-shirt freshman Kristen Polanski (Livonia, Mich.) tied for 24th with a 165 (81-84).
