Former Spartan Coach Jim Bibbs To Be Honored

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Former Michigan State track and field head coach Jim Bibbs will receive the Detroit Track Old-Timers Lifetime Achievement Award at the organization's 10th annual dinner on Aug. 20. Bibbs tied Jesse Owens' world 60-yard mark in 1951 and was a member of the Pan-American Track team. Bibbs coached the Spartans from 1976-1995. The dinner will be at 6 p.m. at Barth Hall in Detroit.
