AUSTIN, Texas - Severe thunderstorms and persistent rain wiped out almost all the events on Wednesday at the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, including the women's long jump.
Senior Sherita Williams had been scheduled to compete in the preliminaries of the long jump on Wednesday prior to the weather delay. Instead, both prelims and finals will take place on Thursday, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time.
MSU's two other competitors had their schedules modified. Senior Jamie Krzyminski will have to wait an extra half hour on Thursday to compete in the 10,000-meter run, as her race time has been pushed back to 10:55 p.m. ET. Freshman Cynetheia Rooks will not run in the 200-meter prelims until 8:15 p.m. ET instead of the originally scheduled time of 6:20 p.m.
