BATON ROUGE, La. - Freshman Cynetheia Rooks (Graysburg, N.C.) scored in two events, the 200- and 400-meter dashes, while senior Sherita Williams (Tampa, Fla.) finished fourth in the triple jump Saturday, May 29, helping Michigan State to an eighth-place finish (32 points) at the NCAA Mideast Regional. Host Louisiana State won the NCAA Mideast Regional with 111 points while Tennessee took second (65) and Michigan third (53).
Rooks produced a personal-best 23.41 in the 200, finishing fourth and qualifying for the NCAA Championships scheduled for June 10-12 in Austin, Texas.
