Post-Game Notes
- Tom Izzo got the 100th Big Ten win of his career with the 69-58 victory against Minnesota Saturday (Feb. 14). He is one of 17 coaches in Big Ten history to accomplish this feat.
- Michigan State hit a season high in steals with 15. This is the first time this season that five players have had at least two steals.
- The Spartans held Minnesota to its lowest point total in a half with the Golden Gophers' 19-point production in the second stanza.
- MSU has had a field goal percentage of at least .500 in nine of the last 11 contests this season.
- Chris Hill hit a season-high with 20 points. His previous high was 18, which he accomplished twice - the last time against Purdue on Jan. 25, 2004.
- Kelvin Torbert grabbed a season-high seven rebounds. His career-high is eight - that came against South Florida on Dec. 21, 2002. He also hit a season-high with 37 minutes.
- The Spartans picked up their third win of the season in games where they have trailed at the half. It is the second-straight contest against the Golden Gophers in which MSU has come back from a halftime deficit to win.
- For the second-straight game, MSU's Paul Davis was held to less than 10 points. He scored eight points against Illinois (Feb. 10) and today against Minnesota.
- Second-half production was increased by the Spartans as Minnesota generated just two points off turnovers while the Spartans found 11 second-half points off miscues.
- The Spartans' 21 team rebounds is a tie for the lowest rebound production by Michigan State this season. The last time MSU had just 21 rebounds was Dec. 30, 2003 against Coppin State.
- The Spartans' 22 three-point attempts is third-most this season and the most since they attempted 23 against Syracuse on Jan. 3, 2004.
- Michigan State was held to a .273 three-point percentage, its lowest percentage total since Dec. 6, 2003 against Oklahoma when MSU was held to .231.
- MSU held Minnesota to the lowest opponent three-point percentage this season. Minnesota shot just .143 from beyond the arc. The previous opponent-low came from Kansas (.211) on Nov. 25, 2003.
