* Michigan State won its sixth straight game to improve to 10-1. It marks the second straight year that MSU started 10-1. Prior to last season, MSU had not started 10-1 since the 1973-74 season.
* Michigan State is now 2-0 vs. Vermont. The only previous meeting was a 71-58 MSU win in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., Dec. 29, 1993.
* Kelli Roehrig led MSU in scoring for the third time this season with 23 points, and added seven rebounds. Roehrig's 23 points moved her career total to 1,057 points, and she is just 18 points shy of moving into the top 10 on MSU's career scoring chart.
* Roehrig has now scored in double figures in eight consecutive games and has three games with 20+ points this season.
* Lindsay Bowen finished with 15 points including three 3-point baskets. She now has 971 career points, and moved up three spots to 17th on MSU's career scoring list. She also moved into second on MSU's career 3-pointers list with 161.
* Kristin Haynie flirted with a triple-double with 13 points, a season-high nine assists and eight rebounds, and added four steals. Haynie moved past Syreeta Bromfield into 24th place on MSU's career scoring list with 927 career points.
* Liz Shimek had 14 points and eight rebounds. She surpassed the 800-point plateau, now with 808, and moved into 12th place on MSU's career rebounds list with 617.
* Michigan State matched its season high with 85 points. The Spartans also scored 85 points vs. Eastern Illinois. It is the ninth time this season MSU has scored at least 73 points.
* MSU outrebounded Vermont 47-31. MSU has now outrebounded 10 of its 11 opponents this season.
* Michigan State had a season-best 22 assists, led by Haynie's team season-high nine. Seven players had at least one assist for MSU.
* Thanks to 20 offensive rebounds, MSU had a 31-6 advantage in second-chance points.
