
Women's Soccer Loses 3-0 At Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Michigan State women's soccer team dropped its third consecutive game Friday night, falling to Indiana, 3-0, at IU's Bill Armstrong Stadium. With the win, Indiana improves to 8-3-1 (3-1-1 Big Ten) on the season, while MSU falls to 8-5-1 (2-4-1 Big Ten).
The Hoosiers opened the scoring in the 12th minute on a high shot to the right corner by Carrie DeFreece. Indiana increased its lead at 2-0 four minutes later after Kristin Radcliffe scored on a low right corner shot with an assist by Ali Brown. IU's Kristen Zmijewski scored the game's final goal in the 65th minute off an assist from Suzie Teixeira for the final margin.
Midfielder Maureen Pawlak (Fr./Commerce Township) had three shots and goalkeeper Erin Carlson (Sr./Portage) finished the game with six saves for Michigan State.
Indiana outshot MSU by a 17-10 margin, but the Spartans held a 4-2 advantage over the Hoosiers in corner kicks.
The Spartans will battle Purdue in a Big Ten contest on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. in West Lafayette, Ind.
