EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's soccer team (9-7-1, 2-6-1) will host Michigan (9-5-2, 6-2-1) in the final Big Ten game of the season for both teams at Old College Field this Friday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m.
Last weekend, the Spartans fell at Wisconsin, 1-0, before defeating Oakland, 3-2, to snap a five-game losing streak. Midfielder Abby Shepherd (Sr./Milford) assisted on two goals for MSU.
The all-time series between the Spartans and the Wolverines is tied at 8-8-2, but Michigan has won two of the last three meetings, including a 2-1 overtime win in Ann Arbor last season.
Forward Emma Harris (Jr./Portage) leads Michigan State with five goals and 13 points this season.
"We're looking forward to getting on the right track, and I don't think there's a better challenge out there than going up against Michigan on our home field," said MSU head coach Tom Saxton.
After the UM contest, MSU hosts Eastern Michigan in non-conference play at Old College Field on Sunday, Oct. 24 at noon.
