
Women's Golf Heads To Lady Paladin Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's golf heads to Greenville, S.C., this weekend, Oct. 22-24, to participate in the 34th annual Lady Paladin Invitational. The tournament features 23 teams, with seven of those teams ranked in the nation's top-30.
Hosted at the 5,984 yard Furman University Golf Course, the event begins with an 8:20 a.m. shotgun start on Friday (Oct. 22). The second round of play continues Saturday (Oct. 23) at 8:20 a.m. and the third and final round of action is slated for Sunday (Oct. 24) with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Teams scheduled to play include: Appalachian State, Auburn, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, East Carolina, Florida, Florida International, Furman, Georgia, Louisville, Memphis, Miami, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Northwestern, UNC Greensboro, UNC Wilmington, South Florida, TCU and Winthrop. Georgia enters the tournament as the reigning champion.
The Spartans look to make their final outing of the fall season a success, as they head to Greenville with high hopes. MSU is led by sophomores Heather Rose (Chillicothe, Ohio) and Mandi McConnell (Grand Blanc, Mich.), who finished as the team's top two individuals at the Spartans' most recent outing, the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate. Rose finished tied for 32nd, while McConnell finished tied for 39th overall.
Coming off of her first collegiate top-10 finish at the Mary Fossum Invitational (Sept. 18-19), redshirt freshman Kristen Polanski (Livonia, Mich.) will be a force for the Spartans as well. Rounding out the roster, junior Dayna Burleigh (Horsham, Pa.) and freshman Sara Brown (Tucson, Ariz.) will each make the trip for the Green and White. Brown will be making her fourth start of the season, while Burleigh will make her third consecutive start for the Spartans.
