Allison Fouch Finishes Second At Michigan Women's Open Championship

THOMPSONVILLE, Mich. - Michigan State senior-to-be Allison Fouch (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids, Mich.) finished second at the 2003 Michigan Women's Open, after losing a one-hole playoff to Breanne Hall at the Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville, Mich., on Wednesday, July 16.
Fouch and Hall were tied with a 217 after 36 holes of play, but Hall won the playoff to claim the Michigan Women's Open Championship. Fouch, who entered the day trailing Hall by just one stroke, shot a final-round 2-over 74 as Hall shot a 3-over 75 in her final round to force the one-hole playoff.
Former Spartan Stacy Snider (1999-2002), who led the field after Monday's first round, finished fifth with a final score of 219 (67-77-75). Meanwhile, Sue Ertl (1976-79) tied for eighth with a 221 (73-75-73), while Faith Egli (1985-88) placed 10th with a 223 (77-72-74)
Michigan State head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll tied for 14th with a three-round score of 225 (72-74-79). Former Spartan golfers Emily Bastel (1999-2002) finished tied for 21st with a 228 (77-74-77).
Michigan State sophomore-to-be Christy Jonkhoff (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City Central) tied for 47th with a 256 (85-82-89), while senior-to-be Lauren Youngdahl (Jackson, Mich./Lumen Christi) finished tied for 52nd with a final score of 262 (82-87-93).
