Women's Tennis Topped By Richmond 4-3

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The Michigan State women's tennis team fell to Richmond 4-3 Sunday (March 2) at the Alexander Brest Tennis Complex in Jacksonville. The Spartans defeated Jacksonville 4-2 on Sunday morning in a make-up match that was rained out Saturday (March 1), before turning around to face Richmond in an already scheduled Sunday contest. MSU is now 7-6 on the season while Richmond improves to 2-2.
The Spartans were defeated in the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches by Richmond losing a crucial point. Richmond then went on the win the No. 3, 4 and 5 singles matches to earn the 4-3 victory.
Michigan State will wrap up its three-match spring break trip as the Spartans travel to Tallahassee to take on Florida A&M Wednesday (March 5).
