Chris Hill Earns NABC All-District Honors

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State sophomore guard Chris Hill (Indianapolis, Ind.) was named NABC All-District 11 Second Team on Wednesday. The sophomore guard is one of 10 players from the states of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin to be honored by the members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Hill is joined on the second team by Central Michigan's Chris Kaman, Minnesota's Rick Rickert, Oakland's Mike Helms and Loyola-Chicago's David Bailey. The first team includes Illinois' Brian Cook, Marquette's Dwayne Wade, Michigan's LaVell Blanchard, Wisconsin's Kirk Penney, and Eastern Illinois' Henry Domercant.
For the year, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Hill is averaging 13.8 points and 3.9 assists per game to lead the Spartans in both categories. He also leads the team in steals (1.75 spg), field goals made (106), field goals attempted (246), three-point field goals made (65) and three-point field goals attempted (161). Hill ranks second in the Big Ten in steals, eighth in assists (3.92 apg), fourth in three-point field-goal percentage (.404), second in three-point field goals made (2.71) and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.49).
With 10 players honored from 15 different districts, a total of 150 student-athletes are now eligible for the NABC Division I All-American team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2002-03 NCAA men's basketball season.
