Women's Soccer Recieves All-Big Ten Team Accolades

EAST LANSING, Mich.--The Big Ten Conference announced the All-Big Ten teams on Wednesday, Nov. 5. MSU defender Andrea Sied (Sr., Livonia) recieved first team honors. Second team honors were awarded to goalkeeper Stacy Heller (Sr.,Madison, Wis.), and forward Tiffany Laskowski (Sr., Troy) and midfielder Abby Shepherd (Jr., Milford).
Sied earns her third-straight All-Big Ten honor. In 2001, she was a second team honoree, and in 2002 she earned first team accolades. She has started in 19 games, scored six goals and recorded one assist for 13 points this season. Sied is just the third player in MSU history to be a two-time first-team honoree, joining Marcie Dart (1994-95) and Kristin Lester (1994-95).
Heller earns All-Big Ten honors for the second straight year, as she was a first team selection in 2002. This season she became MSU's all-time shutout leader with a career total of 21.5. She has also recorded 103 saves in 19 starts and earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors for two consecutive weeks this season (Sept.1, Sept 9.).
Laskowski earns second team All-Big Ten honors for the third time in her career. She was honored by the conference in both 2001 and 2002. She has 19 starts this season with nine goals and six assists for 24 points. She ranks among MSU's all-time leaders in points (third-place, 77), assists (fourth-place, 19) and career goals (tied-fourth, 29). She was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Sept. 29. Laskowski and Sied join Lester as only three-time All-Big Ten honorees in MSU history.
Shepherd earns conference honors for the second time in her college career. She was a first team All-Big Ten honoree in 2002. She has started in 19 games, scored four goals and recorded four assists for 12 points this season.
MSU will compete today (Thurs., Nov. 6) at the Big Ten Tournament at University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis. Game time is set for 11:30 a.m. EST.
