EAST LANSING, Mich. - Tickets ordered through the Michigan State athletic ticket office for "The BasketBowl" will be allocated and mailed this week. The game on Saturday, Dec. 13 will match No. 3 Michigan State and No. 9 Kentucky in a 4 p.m. contest in front of a world-record crowd of more than 75,000 attendance and a national television audience on CBS.
As stated on the ticket application, the allocation of tickets is based upon availability and University donor priority. The quantity of tickets ordered on all applications will be accommodated for this event. However, ticket orders in the $60 and $52 sections exceeded availability. Tickets ordered in these sections by non-donors and non-season ticket holders may be moved to adjacent seating locations in the next best available price level. A refund for the price differential will be provided.
Fans attending the game are advised to arrive early to provide ample time for parking and entry. Gates to Ford Field will open at 2 p.m. Michigan State donors and season-ticket holders ordered 50,672 tickets in a private sale that concluded in late June. An additional 19,028 tickets were sold in four days to the general public through the Ford Field Box Office and Ticketmaster. Capacity for "The BasketBowl" will exceed 75,000 by including Ford Field suite holders, MSU and Kentucky pep bands and cheerleaders, media and stadium game-day personnel.
