MADISON, Wisc. - The Michigan State University men's soccer team defeated Wisconsin, 1-0, on Sunday (Oct. 26). It was the Spartans (10-3-2) final regular season Big Ten match of the season as they finished 3-1-2 in conference play.
At the 70:32 mark, junior attacker John Minagawa-Webster (Monroe) sent a pass to senior midfielder Jeff Krass (Brighton) who shot the ball into Wisconsin's net. With the assist Minagawa-Webster ties sophomore midfielder Ryan McMahen (Munster, Ind.) for the team lead with 19 points. The goal was Krass' first of the season.
Senior goalkeeper Mike Robinson (Troy) stopped four shots. It was Robinson's fifth shutout of the year.
The Spartans finish the regular season with two home games to warm up for the Big Ten Tournament at Indiana. They will face Bowling Green on Friday (Oct. 31) at 3 p.m. EST and Notre Dame Sunday (Nov. 2) at 1 p.m. EST.
