Women's Soccer Hits The Road For Conference Play

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's soccer team will travel to two Big Ten matches this weekend. The Spartans will play at Penn State, Friday (Oct. 3) at 7 p.m. and will travel to Ohio State, Sunday (Oct. 5) for a 2 p.m. match. Michigan State enters the contests with a 7-2 overall record (3-1 Big Ten), the Nittany Lions enter with an 8-2-2 overall record (2-1 Big Ten) and the Buckeyes currently hold a record of 7-1-1 (1-1-1 Big Ten).
Last season, the Spartans lost, 3-0, to Penn State and defeated Ohio State 3-2. Tiffany Laskowski (Sr., Troy, Mich.) was named Big Ten Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday (Sept. 29). The senior midfielder recorded two goals in a 4-2 victory over Minnesota on Sept. 26 and scored the game-winning goal against Wisconsin on Sept. 28. Laskowski currently leads the Spartans with a team-best five goals and five assists for 15 points.
MSU returns to home action at Old College Field on Friday (Oct. 10) when it hosts Purdue at 4 p.m., before battling Indiana on Sunday (Oct. 12) at 12 noon.
