Krzyminski Earns All-American Status At NCAA Outdoor Championships

BATON ROUGE, La. - The Michigan State women's track and field team had sophomore Jamie Krzyminsiki (Corunna, Mich.) represent its squad in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Baton Rouge, La., on Wednesday.
Krzyminski earned All-American honors, after finishing seventh in the 10K with a time of 34:55.66. Kristin Price of North Carolina State won the event with a time of 34:26.63. Kryzminski finished second in the 10K at the 2002 Big Ten Championships with a time of 34:05.20. She also won a Big Ten championship in the 5K at 2002 Big Ten Indoor Championship.
Spartan junior Lynlee Phillips (Shamong, N.J) will compete in the javelin on Thurday. She ranks 11th in the nation for the event. Senior Ann Somerville (Ironwood, Mich.) will compete in the preliminaries of the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Thursday. She holds the Big Ten record and ranks 16th in the nation in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
