Sherita Williams Takes Second In Triple Jump For Spartans

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Michigan State women's track and field team wrapped up its second day of competition at the Penn Relays on Friday (April 26). Events will continue through Saturday (April 27) at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
Junior Sherita Williams (Tampa, Fla.) continued to perform well as she captured second place in the triple jump (40'10 ?") on Friday. Williams ranks third in the Big Ten in the triple jump and second in the Big Ten in the long jump. She competed in the long jump on Thursday (April 25) and finished fourth with a mark of 19'00."
The Spartans sent sophomores Michelle Carson (Winnipeg, Manitoba), Jamie Krzyminski (Corunna, Mich.), junior Ann Somerville (Ironwood, Mich.) and freshman Katie Anderson (Marquette, Mich.) to Philadelphia to compete in the 4x1500-meter Championship of America Relay on Friday. They finished 12th with a time of 18:55.36.
The Spartans continue competition Saturday (April 27) at the Penn and Hillsdale Relays.
