Paul Terek Leads Decathlon Competition At Mt. SAC Invitational

Azusa, Calif. - Seniors Paul Terek (Livonia, Mich.) and Jeff Kus (Grand Ledge, Mich.) are competing in the largest contingent of multi-event athletes in the country this season. The multi-event is hosted by Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif., in conjunction with the 44th-annual Mt. SAC Relays. The decathlon field consists of 48 collegiate and sponsored athletes.
Terek currently leads the Mt. SAC Relays Decathlon with 4,020 points after day one. Terek is one of six collegiate competitors in a field of 14. Kus is participating in the California Invitational section, he is currently in third place with 3,724 points.
Two fellow Spartans who are participating in the field event portion of the 44th-annual Mt. SAC Relays hosted by Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif., will join Terek and Kus. Senior Matt Deering (Dowagiac, Mich.) will be competing with Terek in the pole vault and sophomore Steve Manz (West Branch, Mich.) will be throwing the shot put and discuss. Kus will compete in the high jump. The field events take place April 19 - 21.
The rest of the Spartans are traveling to Kalamazoo, Mich., on April 20 to compete against Central Michigan, Bowling Green and host school Western Michigan.
