EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo:
"Wow, what a win. I think that had to go down as one of the better wins we've had. The way the game started out again, I don't know why we are getting off to those starts. I think it was half their defense. I also thought we had some shots inside. We did what we wanted to do, we got the ball in at them. We just had balls rim and rim and rim around the net. We really couldn't put the ball in the ocean."
"We tried to double the post a little bit. Probably a bad move on my part because they started burying those threes on kick-outs."
"I've got to give our guys credit because they hung in there and battled back. Maybe most impressive of all was in the second half where I thought we played great defense the first seven, eight, nine minutes. But again, we couldn't get the ball in the hoop."
"When they went up eight, the guy I've got to give most credit to is Marcus Taylor. I told him probably for the first time since I've had him that I recruited you to be a superstar, this is your chance. I thought we ran four great sets at the end, three of them for him (Taylor) and one of them for Ballinger."
"He (Marcus Taylor) made some great plays and that is why he is an All-American."
Indiana head coach Mike Davis:
"I think a game like this is a great opportunity for our basketball team. It was a hard fought game, we had a great look at the end. Like I told our team, we are in first place and control our own destiny. We knew it would be very difficult to come here and beat Michigan State. They did a great job of making adjustments throughout the game. We made some big shots early but they made the adjustments."
