MSU Women Harriers Dominate Spartan Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's cross-country team had a great showing at the 12th annual Spartan Invitational Friday (Sept. 21). In this non-scoring meet held at Forest Akers East Golf Course, the Spartan's took four out of the top five finishing spots.
Senior Ann Somerville (Ironwood, Mich.) finished first (17:43.3) followed by fellow Spartan sophomore Michelle Carson (Winnipeg, Man.) who ran second (17:50.1). Bobbie Hardbarger of University of Akron finished third (17:52.3). Rounding out the top five were MSU's sophomore Jamie Krzyminski (Corunna, Mich.) and freshman Katie Anderson (Marquette, Mich.) with times of 17:54.6 and 18:01.1 respectively.
"The women did great," said head coach Jim Stintzi. "I'm really pleased with the results."
