MSU Women's Golf Competes In NCAA Fall Preview

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's golf team will kick-off its fall season with the NCAA Fall Preview Sept. 24-26, after the Spartans' home tournament, the Mary Fossum Invitational, was postponed and later canceled due to the national tragedy.
The Spartans are looking forward to competing at the NCAA preview, an event that is annually contested at the site of the national collegiate championships. Washington will host the NCAA Championships May 21-24 at the par-72 (6,250 yards) Washington National Course.
"We are anxious to compete and very excited about starting our season against the best teams in the country," MSU golf coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll said. "We have a very experienced squad and each player has dreams and goals for themselves and most importantly, for the team."
The field for this year's NCAA Fall preview includes 18 teams that finished in the top 20 at last year's NCAA Championship. Headlining the tournament is defending national champion Georgia, which won the NCAA title by three strokes over Duke last May.
In addition to the Lady Bulldogs, the field includes (NCAA finish): Arizona (8th), Arizona State (18th), Auburn (4th), California (19th), Duke (2nd), Louisiana (12th), Michigan State (12th), New Mexico (11th), Ohio State (22nd), Oklahoma State (5th), Oregon (did not compete), Oregon State (DNC), Pepperdine (14th), Purdue (20th), Stanford (9th), Tennessee (DNC), Texas (3rd), Texas Christian (DNC), Tulsa (10th), UCLA (5th), Southern California (7th), Washington (16th) and Washington State (DNC).
Tee times for the Fall Preview will begin at 8:30 a.m. PT each day of the tournament. A practice round will take place starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23.
