MSU Women's Golf Team Ranks 11th in Preseason Poll

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's golf team opens the 2001-02 season ranked 11th in Lisa Antonucci's preseason poll in Golfweek Magazine (Sept. 8). The Spartans were the highest-ranked team in the Big Ten Conference. Ohio State earned the second-highest ranking in the Big Ten, at 14th. The Spartans finished the 2000-01 season ranked 19th.
In the Golf World Women's College Coach's Preseason Poll released Sept. 12, MSU ranked tied for 16th with Kent State. Duke earned the No. 1 spot, while Auburn and Texas were ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
The Spartan women's golf team will compete in the team's first tournament of the season, the NCAA Fall Preview in Seattle, Washington, Sept. 24-26.
