MSU Women's Track Competes At Hillsdale Relays

Hillsdale, Mich. - The Michigan State women's track and field team competed in the Hillsdale Relays April 27-28.
Senior Shannon Houseman (Alto, Mich.) led the Spartans with a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:24.20). Junior Swanne Gordon (Pointe-Claire, Quebec) finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.67.
Freshman Sarah Adelaine (Harbor Springs, Mich.) captured sixth place in the shot put with a mark of 13.29 meters. Adelaine also finished sixth in the javelin (35.88 meters).
Other top Spartan finishers included sophomore Akilah Washington (Detroit, Mich.), who took seventh in the 200-meter dash (25.60), sophomore Erin Alexander (Grand Blanc, Mich.), who took eighth in the long jump (5.44 meters), sophomore Shiloh Wint (Westland, Mich.), who earned a 10th-place finish in the pole vault (3.05 meters), and sophomore Sarah Pepera (Ortonville, Mich.), who finished 11th in the 1,500-meter run (4:52.90),
The next Michigan State women's track meet is Sunday, May 6, when the Spartans compete in the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio.
