WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Michigan State women's tennis team dropped a tough 6-1 decision to Purdue on Saturday afternoon (April 21) in West Lafayette.
MSU's Natasha Skogerboe and Mollie Hood posted an 8-7 victory over Purdue's Lynsey Fick and Melissa Iqbal at the No. 2 doubles position. At No. 1 doubles, Caroline Lay and Trine Lise Juliussen dropped a tough 8-5 decision to Purdue's Melissa Woods and Missy Wright and the Boilermakers won No. 3 doubles to take the doubles point.
Mollie Hood picked up MSU's lone point with a 7-6, 6-1 victory over Purdue's Melissa Woods at No. 4 singles. Josie Schmude (MSU) dropped a tough 6-3, 6-4 match to Missy Wright (PUR) at No. 6 singles, while Trine Lise Juliussen (MSU) fell 6-2, 6-4 to Gretchen Haynor (PUR) at No. 3 singles.
Michigan State (6-14 overall, 0-9 Big Ten) closes the regular season at No. 41 Indiana on Sunday (April 22).
