Two Spartan Women Track Members Compete in Stanford Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - While the Michigan State women's track team was competing in the Raleigh Relays, two members of the team were competing in the Stanford Invitational Saturday, March 31.
Freshman Michelle Carson (Winnipeg, Man.) captured 14th in the 10,000-meter run. Her time of 34:29.13 now ranks as the fourth-best time on the school's all-time outdoor performances list.
Junior Ann Somerville (Ironwood, Mich.) took 16th in the 5,000-meter run, competing against 78 other runners. The junior tri-captain ran the event in 16:35.76.
The next Michigan State women's track meet is Saturday, April 14 at the University of Michigan Quad.
