STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Michigan State men's gymnastics team was defeated by Penn State on Saturday, March 18 in State College, Pa. The Spartans scored a season low 187.550, while the Nittany Lions scored a 213.200.

The only two Spartans to place in the top five were junior Brandon Orna (Roselle, Ill.) placing third in the still rings (8.900) and junior Marc Chiappetta (Mundelein, Ill.), who finished fifth on the rings (8.650).

The Spartans will return to State College, Pa. for the Big Ten Championships, Friday to Saturday (March 23-24).
