Spartan Wrestling To Host Oklahoma In Season Finale

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The 14th-ranked Michigan State wrestling team will host the sixth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners in the final dual meet of the season for the Spartans. MSU currently owns an 8-7 record, while Oklahoma boasts a mark of 17-5-1. Michigan State enters the match as the winner in three-straight duals.
The Sooners will feature ranked wrestlers in nine of the 10 weight classes, while the Spartans will send five ranked wrestlers to the mat. One of the top match-ups will be at 133 pounds, where MSU's 4th-ranked Pat McNamara will face 12th-ranked Witt Durden. Last season, McNamara lost to Durden, 3-2, in Norman, Okla.
The dual will be held in Jenison Field House, beginning at 7:30 p.m. During the evening, Spartan wrestling will recognize the efforts of its seniors. Besides McNamara, Mike Castillo (141 pounds) and Cory Posey (165 pounds) will start for the last time at MSU. Senior Chris Tyler (165 pounds) will also be recognized.
