East Lansing, Mich. - Women's soccer goalkeeper Stacy Heller (So., Madison, Wis.) earned Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors after back-to-back shutout performances last week in wins over Toledo and Kent State. Heller was the first Spartan to receive player of the week honors this season.
For the season, Heller has recorded seven shutouts which places her in a three-way tie for second place on the MSU single-season shutout list.
The Spartans will travel to West Lafayette, Ind., this weekend, site of the 2001 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament, to take on Michigan Thursday, Nov. 8 at 1:45 EST with the winner playing the winner of the Illinois/Iowa game. In their only meeting this season, the Wolverines defeated the Spartans, 2-1 in Ann Arbor.
