MSU Men's Cross Country Places Sixth in National Meet

Greenville, S.C. - The 16th-ranked Michigan State men's cross country team placed sixth out of 35 teams with a total of 234 points at the Pre-NCAA Meet in Greenville, S.C., Saturday (Oct. 13). Second-ranked Stanford took home first with 56 points followed by ninth-ranked North Carolina State with 94 points and eighth-ranked Northern Arizona with 136 points.
The MSU harriers were led by freshman Chris Toloff (Novi, Mich.), placed 22nd (25:13). Junior Ben Evans (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) finished 36th with a time of 25:25, sophomore Andrew Alley (Calgary, Alberta) placed 54th (25:40) and Andy Marsh (Grand Ledge, Mich.) finished 58th (25:44).
Alabama's David Kimani took first with a time of 24:06 followed by Grant Robison of Stanford (24:31) and Belmont's William Kemey (24:35).
The MSU men's cross country team will next compete in the Eastern Michigan University Open (Ypsilanti, Mich.) Friday, October 19.
