Wrestling Team Earns Academic Honor

East Lansing, Mich. - The Michigan State wrestling team was named by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (N.W.C.A.) as one of the top 30 Division I academic teams in the country. The Spartans were recognized for their 2.8776 cumulative grade-point average, good for 25th in the nation. Along with the team award, Nick Muzashvili (Sr., Unadilla, N.Y.) earned first-team Academic All-America honors, while Charles Sageman (Fr., Saginaw, Mich.) and Karl Nadolsky (Fr., Holland, Mich.) were named to the honorable mention team.
Muzashvili, who earned a 3.00 grade-point average in supply chain management, took fourth in the NCAA Championships this spring. He is a two-time All-American.
Sageman and Nadolsky, both freshman, earned 3.214 and 3.22 grade-point averages, respectively. Nadolsky was an NCAA qualifier this past season for MSU.
