Michigan State's Steve Schell Places Ninth At Penn Relays

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's track and field team sent senior Steve Schell to the 106th Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania from April 25-29.
On Thursday, April 27, Schell competed in the men's 5,000-meter "Championship," where he hoped to qualify for the 5,000 meters at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Schell achieved that goal after finishing ninth in the men's 5,000m with a provisional-qualifying time of 14:03.37.
Schell also qualified automatically for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 10,000-meter run at the Stanford Track and Field Invitational on Saturday, March 25. .
