Spartans Send Three To Stanford Track And Field Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's and women's track and field team sent three athletes to the Stanford Track and Field Invitational on Saturday, March 25. MSU seniors Jen Denkins, Leah Nilsson, and Steve Schell all competed in the 10-meter run at the meet, which featured athletes from high profile collegiate teams such as Michigan, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Colorado, Oregon, and California.
In the women's 10,000 meters, Denkins (Flushing, Mich.) finished in the top 10, placing sixth with an NCAA Automatic Qualifying time of 33:58.80. Nilsson (Williamston, Mich.) placed 28th with a time of 35:43.22. In the men's 10,000 meters, Schell (Dearborn, Mich.) took 12th, also running an NCAA Automatic Qualifying time of 28:52.10.
The MSU men's and women' s track and field teams will both return to action at the Texas Relays (Austin, Texas) from April 5-8.
