Women's Tennis Falls To Ball State, 6-1

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The MSU women's tennis team lost, 6-1, to Ball State, Sunday afternoon. The loss drops Michigan State to 1-4 overall, while Ball State improves to 2-4.
Junior Kelli Hayes (Munster, Ind.) got the only Spartan singles win of the day, a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over BSU's Libby Gerding. The win is Hayes' second comeback win in as many dual matches, as she also came from behind to defeat Illinois-Chicago's Emina Curic last Friday.
The Cardinals took the five remaining singles matches and the doubles point for the 6-1 win.
Michigan State returns home to play a pair of dual matches this weekend, hosting Illinois on Feb. 26 and Northwestern on Feb. 27. Both matches will begin at 11 a.m. and take place at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
