Women's Tennis Stopped By Eastern Michigan, 6-3

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's tennis team lost a 6-3 dual match to Eastern Michigan Friday afternoon at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. The loss drops the Spartans to 0-3 overall, while the Eagles improve to 1-2.
MSU got singles victories from junior Natasha Skogerboe (Coon Rapids, Minn.) at No. 3 singles and freshman Joi McQueen (Carmel, Ind.) at No. 4 singles, while the doubles team of junior Kelli Hayes (Munster, Ind.) and freshman Kerri Pastein (Midland, Mich.) were also winners.
Skogerboe won the only match of the day that went to three sets, taking a 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 decision from Eastern's Agnieszka Tokarczuk. McQueen scored a 6-4, 6-3 win against Lizaan Joubert.
Hayes and Pastein got MSU's only doubles win of the day with their 9-7 triumph over Joubert and Aino Kalervo.
Michigan State will now have a week off before hosting Illinois-Chicago at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility.
