Franklin, Indiana - The Michigan State University women's golf team is currently in second place at the Big Ten-Big 12 Shootout at the Legends Golf Course in Franklin. After two rounds, the Spartans shot a 293-296=589. Juniors Emily Bastel (Upper Sandusky, Ohio) and Stacy Snider (Grand Rapids, Mich.) tied for third place individually at 142, with Bastel shooting 72-70 and Snider shooting 71-71. Maria Boden of Oklahoma State University and Sarah Johnston of Alabama lead the tournament tied at 139 after two rounds. Competition resumed this morning at 8 a.m. for the last 18 holes.
