Three Wrestlers Earn Titles at Ben McMullen Open

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Three members of the Michigan State wrestling squad won individual titles at the Ben McMullen Open hosted by Muskegon Community College on Saturday, Nov. 14. Two other Spartans placed in the top four.

Kevin Spiess (Ovid, Mich., 165 pounds) , Scott Owen (Carlsbad, N.M., 174), and Nik Fekete (Cranford, N.J., 184) all took first place at their respective weight classes. In addition to the three champions, Karl Nadolsky (Holland, Mich., 157) took second place and Charlie Sageman (Saginaw, Mich., 141) finished fourth.

The Ben McMullen Open featured wrestlers from community colleges and freshmen and sophomores from four-year universities.
