Women's Track Concludes Action at Big Ten Championship

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State women's track team placed 10th with four points at the 1999 Big Ten Outdoor Championship at Rankin Track and Field in West Lafayette, Ind. Purdue won the team title with 143 points.
Michigan State athletes only completed in three event finals on Sunday. The Spartans picked up a point in the 5,000 meter run as Jen Denkins (Flushing, Mich.) finished eighth at 17:28.25. Elyse Adelson (West Bloomfield, Mich.) and Leah Nilsson (Williamston, Mich.) also ran in the 5,000, placing 10th and 19th respectively. In the triple jump, Heidi Jackson (Rochester, N.Y.) placed 14th with a leap of 10.88 meters (35' 8.5"). The MSU 4 X 400 relay team finished 10th at 4:01.54.
